September 2010 – The Piece Hall Transformation Project is gathering momentum, as the appointment of project managers Turner and Townsend has been confirmed for the duration of the project. This global construction consultancy will work closely with Calderdale Council’s project team and with the architect-led design team, which will be appointed in November. Amongst other things, T & T will undertake extensive public consultation, to obtain your views about the building and its role at the heart of Halifax and Calderdale.
July 2010 – The historic and architectural importance of the Piece Hall has been recognised by the Heritage Lottery Fund, who have given an approval to the First Round funding application, and the project now enters an exciting new phase. The project team have just started the process of selecting and appointing the architect-led Design Team, who will start the process of working up detailed designs for a planning and listed building application in early 2011.
