Join us for a free community festival celebrating one of the most vibrant cultures of the Middle East. Enjoy wonderful music from Salaam UK. Hear local children and internationally renowned singer Reem Kelani singing the songs of Palestine.
Give a warm Calderdale welcome to the young dancers from Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem as they join with local teenagers in a traditional ‘dabka’ dance. A perfect opportunity to try out delicious Palestinian food and browse round the colourful craft art and embroidery displays – a great day out for all the family!

Calderdale ignites its Olympic torch in preparation for the Games coming to London in 2012. This event combines spectacles of both cultural and sporting excellence. Demonstrations by local community groups, cycling skills, health fitness checks and an all action packed ‘Bootcamp’ supplied by Ice Fitness.
There will be details of the many sporting and cultural opportunities available throughout Calderdale, and displays from clubs and organisations.
For all of you who fancy something a little less sporty and bit more fun, we will be hosting our very own sports day. We will be including old favourites such as the egg and spoon race and bean bag championships, so if you are old or young…come join in the fun.
