Entry Information

Entry is via the South Gate on Blackledge, the North Gate via Hatters Fold or the East Gate beside the Library. 

Your safety at The Piece Hall is paramount and we continually liaise with the appropriate authorities to ensure robust security measures are in place.

In order to ensure The Piece Hall is a safe environment, we may search you, your clothing, bags or other items at any time at our sole discretion. Refusal or failure to co-operate in any search may result in your being refused entry or being ejected from The Piece Hall.

The following items are prohibited: 

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Glass bottles or cans 
  • Large cameras, recording equipment or tripods
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards or skates
  • Drones or remote control devices
  • Balls, frisbees or other projectiles
  • Sticks or poles (excluding walking sticks and aids)
  • Unauthorised literature or promotional giveaway
  • Items which are or may be illegal including, without limitation, weapons, fireworks, drugs and other controlled substances. 
  • Any items deemed unsafe or to have a potential impact on the enjoyment or viewing experience of others

The Piece Hall reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, to refuse admission or eject any person from the site if it considers their behaviour or conduct is likely to cause damage, injury, nuisance or distress to others.

 

Bags

To support our staff and make this process efficient, please avoid bringing a bag if possible.

If you must bring a bag it should be no larger than a small handbag or a canvas tote bag. Please do not bring rucksacks, suitcases or other large bags. There are no cloakroom facilities at The Piece Hall.


These arrangements may mean that entry may take longer than usual. Please ensure that you arrive in plenty of time to allow you to pass through our security checks and share this information with all members of your party.

It is your responsibility to keep your personal possessions safe at all times whilst at The Piece Hall.

 

Smoking

The Piece Hall operates a no smoking/vaping policy in the courtyard.

 

Weather

This visit will go ahead whatever the weather –  please come prepared as no wet weather provisions will be provided. 

 

Filming & Recordings

All attendees entering the venue consent to being filmed or recorded by or on behalf of The Piece Hall Trust, or another authorised third party. All rights in the Recording shall be owned by The Piece Hall Trust, or authorised third party.

Large cameras, recording equipment or tripods are not permitted unless a previously arranged with The Piece Hall Trust. 

 

Travel information

The Piece Hall is located just five minutes walk from Halifax Railway Station and Halifax Bus Station. We recommend you travel by public transport where possible.

Parking
Broad Street Plaza - a few minutes' walk from The Piece Hall.
Dean Clough - around 10 minutes’ walk. The walking route is signposted.
