Calderdale Council has been given the ‘green light’ to progress an application for a £7million Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant, and they have been awarded £239,700 in development funding to work up plans towards the redevelopment of the historic Piece Hall in Halifax. Read more>

One of the Greater Churches of England and one of the jewels to be found in Halifax, here in the heart of Calderdale. Square Chapel is a thriving arts venue in the centre of Halifax. Based in a Grade II* listed building - Britain's only remaining Square Church - it's a hub of creativity. We programme national and regional touring arts companies, hosting over 300 professional performances a year including music, theatre, comedy, dance and community events.
There is a large auditorium, with excellent acoustics and a welcoming atmosphere, a cosy bar, ideal for a drink before a performance, and with our own outreach team, we make the arts accessible for everyone in Calderdale and beyond.

Eureka! is an award-winning attraction and educational charity for children. The museum is based in Halifax and features over 400 interactive exhibits which inspire children aged 0-11 to learn about themselves and the world around them through imagination, play and discovery.
