STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH

Posted On: 9 Apr 2021

The Chair and Chief Executive of The Piece Hall Trust, wish to express profound sadness at the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. On behalf of the entire Piece Hall community, including our staff, trustees and our traders, our thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family, who have lost not just a highly respected public figure, but a devoted husband, father, grand-father and great-grandfather.

Many within our town and wider region will fondly remember His Royal Highness visiting The Piece Hall in 2004 and will know of our long associations with the wider Royal Family. Our hope is that these memories will help provide some comfort to the community and ensure that his legacy endures.

As the country enters a period of mourning, we hope that The Piece Hall, The Trust and the team here, can play a role in allowing people the space to grieve in their own way over the coming days.
