DESCRIPTION:Town Festival 2024\nThursday 10 October – Sunday 20 October – 4.00pm – Various prices and locations \nTOWN Festival (previously Halifax Festival of Words) will be returning in October 2024\, with a number of events at our independent store The Book Corner. \nAcross this wonderfully local ten-day literature and music festival there is something for everyone! A myriad of local poets\, musicians\, authors and illustrators dive deep into the history of our towns radical roots\, the modern social politics of everyday life\, the beauty of our local area with so many stories interweaving throughout. There are workshops\, in-conversations\, story-times\, live performances and much more. \nEvents include: \nBluemoose Books: Sports and Social \nFriday 11 October\, 6pm | Venue: The Book Corner \nHebden Bridge-based publisher and friend of The Book Corner Kevin Duffy\, of Bluemoose Books\, is kicking off with the first book event of the festival. \n  \nStorytime with Sophie Edgar \nSaturday 12 October\, 11am | Venue: The Book Corner \nJoin local children’s writer Sophie Edgar for a bookshop story time. Sophie will be reading from her picture book The Magical Kite Ride. \n  \nDavid Hepworth: Hope I Get Old Before I Die \nSaturday 12 October\, 7pm | Venue: The Book Corner \nFrom the author of Abbey Road comes the story of how enduring rock icons like Pink Floyd\, Bruce Springsteen and many more have remained in the ever-changing music game. \n  \nStorytime with The Dragons of Wainhouse Tower \nSunday 13 October\, 11am | Venue: The Book Corner \nJoin local children’s writer Sarah Stone for a bookshop story time. Sarah will be reading from her picture book The Dragons of Wainhouse Tower. \n  \nWriting for Children: Phil Earle & Liz Flanagan \nSunday 13 October\, 4:30pm | Venue: The Book Corner \nDo you love YA or kids’ books? Are you interested in writing for young people?
