Christmas through the ages: 600 years of Christmas as it was celebrated at Shibden Hall
Step into the magic of Christmas past in this festive exhibition by Calderdale Museums Service. Unwrap the stories behind some of history’s best-loved traditions, from Captain Christmas to Christmas puddings.
Discover how Christmas grew into the joyful family gathering we know today, and why it was once banned altogether!
Dashing through the centuries, we also pop in on the families who once called Shibden Hall their home, to see how they might have celebrated the most wonderful time of the year.
