Markets & Banquets Heritage Tour

Book onto one of our free hour-long heritage tours of The Piece Hall led by our knowledgeable guides and discover more about the former Georgian cloth hall’s food-related histories. Discover The Piece Hall’s past as a wholesale market and hear the incredible stories of cows on the loose in the courtyard and the fishmonger’s practices. Find out what people ate at the large banquet to celebrate Queen Victoria’s coronation at The Piece Hall and how food is still an important part of The Piece Hall’s contemporary identity.

Over the coming weeks, The Piece Hall may look a little different as our historic courtyard is transformed once again into the spectacular open-air arena for TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall. While work is taking place, the South Gate entrance may be temporarily closed at times, so please use our other three entrances when visiting. Our shops, bars, cafés, restaurants and heritage spaces all remain open and trading as usual throughout the build period.
