Acclaimed and award-winning singer songwriter Michael Kiwanuka is today confirmed as the latest chart-topping headliner for TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall 2024.
The BRIT Award and Mercury Prize winner will bring his incredible live show to the historic Halifax venue’s iconic open-air courtyard on Thursday 27 June.

Michael Kiwanuka introduced and ingratiated himself a decade ago with his acclaimed debut album Home Again. A talented, unassuming young man of Ugandan heritage and honeyed voice, Michael has made some of the sweetest contemporary soul music of recent years.
Home Again, went Gold in the UK and follow up album, Love & Hate, debuted at Number One in 2016.
His early success and critical acclaim acted as a blueprint for 2019’s KIWANUKA, Michael’s third and most definitive release to date which featured such standout tracks as You Ain’t The Problem, Hero, Rolling and Light.
The album reaped the distinguished Mercury Prize, Michael’s fifth BRIT nomination and his first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Album.
Quite how an artist begins to follow up one of “the greatest albums of the decade” (The Guardian), we will soon find out, but before then we welcome him back to the live arena where he truly excels.

For the first time, TK Maxx will join The Piece Hall and Cuffe and Taylor as presenting partner underscoring TK Maxx’s continued support of the arts and local communities.
The new presenting partnership is part of a three-year agreement with Cuffe & Taylor shows across the country including Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Lytham Festival, Depot Live, Derby Summer Sessions, Plymouth Summer Sessions, Bedford Summer Sessions, and Southampton Summer Sessions.
