The Lumineers announced as Live at The Piece Hall 2023’s first headliners

Chart-topping American indie folk band The Lumineers are the first headliner to be announced for Live at The Piece Hall 2023.

The Lumineers – widely regarded as one of the world’s most beloved bands – will bring their sensational live show to The Piece Hall, Halifax, on Sunday July 9 for a special night under the stars at the historic Yorkshire venue.

It is the first announcement for next summer’s unmissable concert series and tickets for this must-see show at The Piece Hall go on sale at 9am on Friday November 11 via ticketmaster.co.uk

The Lumineers are currently on a huge world tour which included five massive arena shows across the UK earlier this year.

They first burst onto international stage in 2012 with their debut single Ho Hey. Having started out in small clubs and open mic nights in New York and then Colorado, the two-time GRAMMY Award nominees are now a touring juggernaut, selling out stadiums and arenas around the world.

While breakthrough single Ho Hey – which has now been streamed more than 290 million times on YouTube alone – won them legions of fans around the world, The Lumineers work since has firmly cemented the band’s place at world music’s top table.

Second album CLEOPATRA debuted at Number One in America, Canada, and the UK while third album, the cinematic and inventive follow up III – which included the singles Life In The City and the multi-chart topping hit Gloria – proved a critical and popular phenomenon upon its release in 2019.

Fourth album BRIGHTSIDE, released earlier this year, spawned singles Big Shot and A.M. Radio. Having played the UK, Europe and North America, their BRIGHTSIDE World Tour now heads to Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Live at The Piece Hall – held in the historic venue’s iconic open air courtyard – continues to go from strength to strength.

This summer’s series of shows smashed box office records as close to 60,000 music fans saw headline shows from the likes of Duran Duran, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds,  Paloma Faith and Tom Jones.

Nicky Chance-Thompson DL, CEO of The Piece Hall Trust, said:
