The Piece Hall has now welcomed 5 million visitors

The Piece Hall has now welcomed an incredible 5 million visitors since reopening in 2017. The figure far exceeds the original target, which was set at 1.6 million visitors per year.

Chief Executive of The Piece Hall Trust Nicky Chance-Thompson comments:

“Millions of visitors, traders, performers and journalists have come to our town to see and enjoy what we have to offer. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for the public and their continued support.

I want to say a personal and heartfelt thank you to everyone in Halifax and Calderdale. For backing The Piece Hall, for helping to keep our shops and cafes going week in week out, for attending our events and being part of our story and cherishing our history.”

To commemorate reaching this major milestone, the Trust has created an image to thank everyone that has supported The Piece Hall and the businesses trading here. It is hoped that through social media, the ‘5 million thank yous’ will reach all 5 million of them.

As an additional thank you The Piece Hall will be celebrating its second anniversary by hosting a free street party, with music and kids’ activities, on 1st August 2019. This event will mark a special day in Halifax’s history and be one of many free events happening in Halifax’s distinctive courtyard this summer.

The team would also like to hear about people’s favourite Piece Hall memories and stories. If you would like to be involved, please share your favourite Piece Hall memory via social media and tag @ThePieceHall.
